2009 Meetings: “Les Ecrivains arpenteurs de villes”

As part of Beirut’s celebration as the “World Book Capital”, a two-day meeting was organised. Those meetings took place on November 25th and 26th 2009, at the Pierre Abi Khater lecture hall of Saint-Joseph University, and gathered 15 writers from France, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Palestine, and Lebanon over 8 sessions, under the theme “writers strolling in the city” (“les écrivains arpenteurs de villes”). The event was sponsored by Audi Bank, MEA, the Cervantes Institute, the Spanish Embassy, the Instituto Italiana de Cultura, the Mexican Embassy, the Uruguayan Embassy, the French Cultural Institute (Centre Culturel Français), the Brazilian Embassy, and Saint-Joseph University. Approximately 600 people attended this event, which was covered by the press in 16 articles and received TV coverage from 2 channels.
